Let’s get you set up for success

At VB&A, we are deeply passionate about development and coaching in all its forms, and we take the time to understand your unique needs, whether at an individual or organisational level. For example, you may be seeking support around how to create a better work-life balance, or you may be preparing to go for a promotion to Partner.

Our approach is fully tailored to you, focusing on defining what success looks like, applying best practices, and creating a clear, actionable plan to help you reach your goals.

We strongly believe in the power of psychometrics within coaching, and as such, we may leverage one or more tools to gain deeper insights and clarity. This helps us create the momentum needed to set you on the path to success, working together every step of the way.

Our process

How coaching works at VB&A

1. Get in touch

Here at VB&A we always start new partnerships by having a good chat about who you are, why you’re here and what you want to achieve. This first step is all about getting to know you, build the foundation of a great working relationship, and discuss how we can support you.

2. First meeting

Further to our first discussion, we will provide you with a proposal containing a summary of your needs and goals, how we propose to work together, and importantly the pricing. If you are self-funding we pride ourselves on our flexibility, so for example some of our clients pay in instalments.

Within the proposal we also confirm and introduce you to your Coach, who will be hand picked to best suit your needs. If required, we will set up a short call for you to meet them and get a feel for each other.

3. First coaching session

Your first session will build on our initial conversation, diving deeper into the details and setting a solid foundation. If we’ve used any psychometric assessments, we may take a bit more time in this first session to debrief and interpret the results. This is where the creative energy flows—we’ll explore themes, set clear targets, and begin developing strategies for success. No topic is off the table. If you wanted to, you could even invite your Manager to all or some of this session in what we call a ‘Triad Meeting’ – it can be really helpful to gather feedback and align on what good looks like. The choice is yours!

4. Regular coaching sessions

As we move through your coaching sessions, we will take the time to stop and reflect on our progress to date. We’ll review our timeline and discuss our future sessions. If necessary we can agree to extend our coaching sessions – maybe adding to your initial bundle.

5. Review and close

All good things must come to an end! When it’s time to wrap up, our final coaching session will be a chance to reflect, summarise key takeaways, and most importantly, create a clear plan for your next steps. As we always say at VB&A, we don’t just disappear once your coaching ends—we consider you a valued member of our VB&A Alumni, and you’re always welcome to reach out if you need further support.

If, as part of your package, you’d like to involve your manager in the final session or receive insights and data on our work together, we’ll be happy to accommodate that. We’re here for the long term, ensuring you’re set up for continued success.

Unlike many consultancies, we don’t set a fixed number of sessions—we’re here to support you for as long as it takes to achieve your desired outcomes.
